Lunch with Lions

Brought back due to popular demand, Lunch with the Lions was touted as one of the most exciting dining experiences – with wildlife, thrill and gourmet good food all rolled into one – in previous years’ Singapore Food Festival. It has won a Bronze Award for innovation in the International Festivals and Events Association’s Pinnacle Awards 2000 – one of the most prestigious awards in the world bestowed only on the most creative organisations in the world! With more than a hundred guests being turned away due to space constraint and exclusivity of the event previously, it seemed only logical to bring the exciting dining experience back.
The adventure begins with a tram ride to view our Wild Africa exhibits and to the Tropical Crops Plantation – amidst the breath-taking tranquility of the Seletar Reservoir. A refreshing welcome cocktail, made from a special blend of herbs grown there, will greet guests upon arrival. Guests are then whisked to the air-conditioned lion-viewing gallery to dine with the king of beasts.
Guests will be seated alongside the glass panel and the lions will be lured towards the guests with their own lunch.
Guests will also learn about the majestic lions from a ‘live’ commentary by one of the senior zookeepers. A sumptuous buffet spread featuring a dazzling variety of cold and hot, appetizers, vegetables and desert will be presented. After lunch, the guests were given a guided tour through the lush green tropical rainforest at the Zoo’s latest $4.5 million exhibit, the Fragile Forest.
