HOP INTO THE SINGAPORE ZOO'S "AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK"

From the world's second largest marsupial - the grey kangaroos, to the world's deadliest snake - the Inland Taipan, these animals can now be found at the Singapore Zoo's "Australian Outback".

Seven female grey kangaroos, together with the wallabies, are happily nestled in the middle area of the exhibit that is interspersed with semi-arid and marginally fertile ground. Flanking them are two sheds at the entrances containing reptiles and educational interpretives. One key highlight in these shed is the Inland Taipan which boasts of having the most toxic venom of any snake. Yielding as much as 110mg of venom per bite, it is able to kill over 100 people or 250,000 mice. Other animals found in the zoo's "Australian Outback" include the cassowary, emu, brolga, tree kangaroo, blue-tongue skink, bearded dragon, frilled-neck lizard, and the carpet python.

Visitors to the "Australian Outback" will experience upclose encounters with some animals. They will certainly be thrilled with a special kangaroo feeding session, indulge in a rare opportunity to stroll along the mud path with wallabies as well as witness the hoppers' natural behaviour in the naturalistic habitat.

The "Australian Outback" reflects the rugged beauty of Down Under. Visitors can climb onboard a modified jeep that is parked in the exhibit area to enjoy a photo session or simply be treated to an elevated and panoramic view of the "Australian Outback".
