Elephants Of Asia

Singapore Zoo unveils a brand new home for the largest terrestrial animal on earth - the elephant, at its latest eco-exhibit. This new ecological journey is modeled after one of the few remaining logging areas where hill tracts of Arakan in Myanmar, where elephants are still used in sustainable logging operations.

Built along the tranquil waters of the Seletar Reservoir, the 7800-square-metre exhibit comprise viewing lofts, rustic thatched huts and elevated boardwalks. Visitors have a bird’s eye view of the elephants and their behaviour on one side, and the stunning beauty of the reservoir on the other.

Visitors will be able to appreciate how the elephants are bathed and scrubbed by their mahouts. In the thatched huts along the rustic jungle path to the logging camp, bite-sized information and interactive items will provide information on the wonderful world of elephants as well.
