PM Programme | The Rainforest Zoo

Afternoon Highlights* (2 – 5.30pm)

2.00pm - 2.30pm

Arrival at the Zoo

Meander through the Rainforest Walk to catch sight of Asian small-clawed otters before heading past the Malayan tapirs, babirusa and magnificent white tigers before going for a 20-minute cruise on the Boat Safari. Traverse the pristine waters of the Upper Seletar Reservoir as our boat guides share information about water and wildlife conservation. Look out for monitor lizards, stork-billed kingfishers or Singapore’s largest bird, the white-bellied sea eagle, as the boat glides through the water.

Boat Dock 1 is right across from the white tiger exhibit. Check with staff for boat departure timings.

2.40 – 3.10pm

Rainforest Kidzworld
A must for those with children, this colourful wonderland of fun will also appeal to the young at heart. Hop onto the Wild Animal Carousel or if you’ve brought your swim gear, dunk yourself in the Water Play area for a splashingly good time! For some family fun, opt for a horse carriage ride, which will take you around the periphery of this 3-hectare attraction.

OR

Fragile Forest
Explore this walkthrough rainforest which is home to free ranging mousedeer, lemurs, tree kangaroos and butterflies amidst mighty trees, delicate ferns and stunning cascades. The forest ambience is further recreated with soundscaping, logs and a misting effect.

3.15 – 3.50pm

Take the tram from Tram Stop 2 to Tram Stop 4 before proceeding to the Elephants At Work and Play animal presentation (3.30pm) at the Elephants of Asia exhibit. This show gives you an insight into a working elephant’s typical day at the logging camp. It demonstrates the incredible bond between the mahouts and their elephants, and reveals how intelligent these giants are. Immerse yourself in the ecological and cultural wealth of Asia at the six huts, each of which showcases an Asian country that is home to these majestic creatures.

4.00 – 4.30pm

Hop into Australian Outback and come up close to grey kangaroos and agile wallabies. Interspersed with semi-arid and marginally fertile ground, this exhibit reflects the rugged beauty of “Down Under”. Other highlights include the Inland Taipan – the deadliest snake in the world with the most toxic venom, the cassowary, emu, bearded dragon, frilled-neck lizard and carpet python. Learn more about these animals from the educational interpretives or jump onboard the jeep for a great photo opportunity.

For a token amount, guests can feed our kangaroos at 4.00pm daily, during the token feeding session.

5.00 – 5.30pm

Hamadryas Baboons – the Great Rift Valley of Ethiopia
This award winning exhibit features a spectacular troop of over 80 baboons alongside Nubian ibexes, black-backed jackals, rock hyraxes and banded mongooses in a stunning landscape of massive rocks. Experience the Native Ethiopian lifestyle with rustic tribal villages, artifacts and coffee ceremony huts.

For a token amount, guests can take part in the baboon feeding session at 5.00pm daily.

5.30pm onwards

Catch a glimpse of the pygmy hippos. These underwater ballerinas will astound as they tiptoe lithely alongside you (on their ‘riverbed’) as you walk along the length of their enclosure.
